Sell My Patek Philippe in Bristol

BristolSouth West

A Patek Philippe deserves more care than a quick over the counter offer. We buy and place Patek across Bristol and the South West, and most owners who come to us are weighing up two things, the best achievable price and the fact that they would rather the sale stayed between us. Book a time to bring the watch to Castlemead on Lower Castle Street, or send photographs first, and we will talk you through what your reference is doing in the current market before anyone commits to anything.

The references we are asked for

  • Nautilus, with the discontinued 5711 at the top of the list, alongside the 5712, 5726 and 5980
  • Aquanaut in steel and rose gold, the 5167 and 5168 in particular, and the rubber strap models in good colours
  • Calatrava across the generations, from vintage 96 and 3796 through to the 5196, 5227 and 6119
  • Annual Calendar and Complications references such as the 5146, 5396 and 5205
  • Ladies' Twenty~4 and Nautilus, which sell quickly when the bracelet is tight and the set is complete
  • Grand Complications and minute repeaters, handled by appointment

What moves the value

Patek keeps its own records, and that matters at resale. An Extract from the Archives, the original Certificate of Origin and the correct boxes all count towards the final figure. Beyond the paperwork, the same fundamentals apply as with any fine watch.

  • Case sharpness, since a polished Nautilus loses the crisp transition between case and bezel that buyers look for
  • Bracelet stretch and the number of links present
  • Dial originality, with no relume, no refinish and no swapped hands
  • Recent servicing, ideally with the paperwork to show for it
  • Discontinued status, which on the steel Nautilus has been the single biggest driver of the last few years

Why Patek suits consignment

Patek is the brand where the gap between a trade price and a retail price is widest, so it is usually the brand where consignment pays best. We list the watch, photograph it properly, market it to our own buyers and sell it on your behalf. There is no sale, no fee, so the only cost is patience. Your online dashboard shows how many people have viewed the piece and what offers have come in, so you are never guessing. If you would rather not wait, we will still make you a firm offer with same day payment by bank transfer or in cash once we have checked your ID and the watch, and you can compare the two side by side. For very high values, or sales outside banking hours, payment may follow on the next working day.

Discretion as standard

We never share a seller's name with buyers, and consigned pieces are listed without any reference to their owner. Like any reputable dealer, we ask for photo ID before we buy or take a piece in, and those records stay private. Valuations happen in a private room rather than at the counter, by appointment, Monday to Saturday. Every piece we sell carries our authenticity guarantee for life, so the checks we run on your watch are the same ones we would run before buying it for stock, which is exactly why our figures hold up.

What to bring: the watch, photo ID (passport or driving licence), and any box, papers, receipts or service records. You need to be 18 or over and the owner of the watch, or entitled to sell it.

To get started, send the reference and a few photographs through our sell your watch page, or book a private appointment at Suite 616, Castlemead, Lower Castle Street, Bristol BS1 3AG. If you would like to know who you are dealing with first, our about page covers it.
