Sell My Cartier in Bristol
BristolSouth West
Cartier has changed a great deal in the last few years. What used to be seen as a dress watch brand now has one of the strongest secondhand markets in the trade, and prices on the right references have moved accordingly. We buy Cartier watches and jewellery by appointment at Castlemead on Lower Castle Street, and we sell plenty across the South West, so the figure we give you reflects what a piece genuinely achieves rather than an old rule of thumb.
The pieces we want
- Santos de Cartier, the current QuickSwitch generation in steel, two tone and gold
- Santos-Dumont in all sizes, including the thin quartz models
- Tank in its many forms, Louis Cartier, Must, Francaise, Americaine and Solo
- Ballon Bleu across sizes, with 40mm and 42mm the easiest to place
- Panthere, in steel, two tone and full gold, which has been in constant demand since its return
- Vintage and London made Cartier, plus Cartier jewellery such as Love, Juste un Clou and Trinity
The modern Cartier market
Two things drive it. First, design that does not date, which means a fifteen year old Tank looks current in a way that most watches of the same age do not. Second, a buyer base that reaches well beyond traditional watch collectors. That combination keeps demand steady rather than spiky, and it means condition and completeness carry more weight than short term hype.
These are the details that change our figure.
- Box, papers and the original service book
- Case condition, with unpolished flat surfaces on a Tank worth protecting
- Original strap or bracelet, and whether spare links are present
- Whether the movement is quartz, automatic or a manual wind, since values differ sharply between them
- Any gem setting, and whether it left the factory that way
Ladies' pieces and jewellery
Ladies' Cartier is one of the parts of the market most sellers underestimate. Small Tanks, Panthere in gold and diamond set Ballon Bleu all sell quickly, and inherited pieces that have sat unworn for years are often worth considerably more than their owners assume. Cartier jewellery is the same story. A Love bangle or a Trinity ring should never be valued as scrap gold. Signed Cartier pieces are valued as jewellery, not by weight. If a watch needs attention before sale, we can arrange a service or repair through the watchmaker we work with, quoted to you first, or advise you to leave it alone.
Selling to us, or through us
Take a firm offer and same day payment, or let us sell it for you. Consignment puts your Cartier in front of retail buyers with no sale, no fee, and your dashboard shows the views and offers as they come in. For current Santos and Panthere references, consignment often makes a real difference. For older quartz pieces, an outright sale is usually the sensible route, and we will say so. When we buy outright, we pay by bank transfer or in cash the same day once we have checked your ID and the piece. For very high values, or sales outside banking hours, payment may follow on the next working day.
What to bring: the piece, photo ID (passport or driving licence), and any box, papers, receipts or service records. You need to be 18 or over and the owner of the piece, or entitled to sell it.
Book a time to bring your Cartier to Suite 616, Castlemead, Lower Castle Street, Bristol BS1 3AG, or send photographs through our sell your watch page for an indication before you travel. Everything we sell is authenticated before it is listed and guaranteed authentic for life.
