Sell My Rolex in Bristol

BristolSouth West

Selling a Rolex should be straightforward. You book a time and bring the watch to Castlemead on Lower Castle Street in Bristol, we open it up, check it properly and give you a firm figure. If the number works, you are paid by bank transfer or in cash the same day once we have checked your ID and the watch. For very high values, or sales outside banking hours, payment may follow on the next working day. We are independent luxury watch specialists based in Bristol, and Rolex is the brand we handle most, so the offer comes from what your reference is actually trading at this week, not from a printed chart.

The references in demand

Steel sports models still move quickest, but the market is broader than most sellers expect and precious metal pieces have found a proper following again.

  • Submariner, Date and no-date, ceramic and earlier aluminium bezel references alike
  • Daytona in steel, gold and two tone, including the discontinued 116520
  • GMT-Master II, particularly the two colour bezel references
  • Explorer and Explorer II, with the 36mm Explorer selling strongly to first time buyers
  • Datejust and Day-Date in any metal, honest vintage examples included
  • Ladies' Datejust and Oyster Perpetual, harder to find in good order than people think

If your watch is not on that list, bring it in anyway. We buy the quieter references too, and we often have a customer already waiting through our sourcing service.

What your Rolex is worth

Four things move the number more than anything else.

  • Box and papers. A full set with the original card, booklets and tags can add a meaningful amount, especially on sports models.
  • Condition. An unpolished case with sharp lugs and crisp chamfers is worth more than one that has been through a heavy refinish.
  • Service history. Recent work from Rolex or a competent independent gives the next owner confidence and saves them a bill.
  • Discontinued references. Once a model leaves the catalogue the good examples get scarce, and prices usually follow.

A missing box does not stop a sale. It changes the figure, and we will tell you by how much and why.

Instant sale or consignment

You have two routes. An outright sale is clean and immediate, with money in your account the same day and no risk left sitting with you. Consignment means we sell the watch on your behalf at retail, with no sale, no fee. You keep more of the final price and you can follow views and offers on your piece through your own online dashboard. As a rule, rarer and higher value watches reward consignment, while common references in average condition are better sold outright. We will tell you honestly which suits yours.

How the process works

Send photographs and the reference number, or book a time to bring it in. We check movement, case, dial and bracelet, check the serial and any paperwork, and give you the figure with the reasoning behind it. Everything we sell carries our authenticity guarantee for life, which is why the checks are thorough. If you would rather part exchange towards something in the cabinet, we will do that too, and the part exchange figure is usually stronger than an outright sale figure.

What to bring: the watch, photo ID (passport or driving licence), and any box, papers, receipts or service records. You need to be 18 or over and the owner of the watch, or entitled to sell it.

Book a time to see us at Suite 616, Castlemead, Lower Castle Street, Bristol BS1 3AG, or start online through our sell your watch page. There is no obligation and no pressure, just an honest answer either way.
