What is your gold worth?
Gold & silver calculator
Prices follow the live market and refresh every hour. Weigh your gold or silver, pick the purity, and see what we would pay. The firm figure is confirmed when we test and weigh it in front of you.
Kitchen scales are fine for a rough idea. We weigh precisely in store, in front of you.
Stones, clasps and other metals are not included in this figure. Bring the piece in and we will weigh the precious metal content properly.
Our offer for your gold
…
Based on the live market. Firm figure confirmed when we weigh and test the piece in front of you.
We buy silver from 100g upwards. If you have less than that, bring it in anyway and we will take a look.
Same day payment by bank transfer or in cash once we have seen the metal and checked your photo ID. No obligation, and no pressure to sell on the day.
How we price it
We test the metal to confirm its purity, weigh it accurately in front of you, and price it against the live market at that moment. Because the market moves through the day, we quote on the day rather than holding a figure open.
Bring the piece in and the figure is confirmed while you wait, with same day payment by bank transfer or in cash. Bring photo ID (passport or driving licence). You need to be 18 or over and the owner of the items.
Got a gold watch rather than scrap?
A gold Rolex or Cartier is valued as a watch, not by weight. Let us value it properly.
Questions about selling gold and silver
How do you work out the price?
We test the metal to confirm its purity, weigh it accurately in front of you, and price it against the live market at that moment. The calculator above uses the same method, so the figure you see is the figure we work from, confirmed once we have tested and weighed it.
What carat or purity is my piece?
Look for the hallmark, usually inside a ring or on a clasp. Gold is marked 375 for 9ct, 585 for 14ct, 750 for 18ct, 916 for 22ct and 999 for 24ct. Silver is marked 800 for continental silver, 925 for sterling and 958 for Britannia. If you are not sure, the calculator prices gold as 9ct and silver as sterling until we have tested it. If there is no mark we will test it for you, free and without damaging the piece.
Do you buy pieces with stones in them?
Yes. We work out the metal weight separately from the stones, and if the stones have value we will price them too rather than ignoring them.
How quickly do I get paid?
Same day. Once we have weighed and tested the metal, checked your photo ID and agreed the figure, we pay by bank transfer or in cash, usually before you leave. You need to be 18 or over and the owner of the items.
Do you buy silverware as well as jewellery?
Yes. Sterling flatware, trays, candlesticks and similar are all welcome, from 100g upwards. Bring it in and we will weigh and price it while you wait.
